Members:Moz, Mike and Monty
The Elusive Tones of Wonder, an experimental musical mosaic, and the product of a group of disturbed individuals - 'disturbed' by the delicious deviance of that electronic phenomena known as 'drum and bass', and perturbed by the pleasant 'redolence' of jazz. Drawing from these wonderful 'traditions' the Elusive Tones have herein etched their own set of sketches on the proverbial wall of the cave on the side of the hill, so to speak.
Comprising foremostly of Moz, with special guests Gannet and Mike, the 'tones' have also been blessed with the skills (and good looks) of a formidable bassist known as Monty, in both live and studio settings.
Over the past few years the Elusive Tones have been known to 'startle' ears aplenty whilst performing their potent concoction of modern 'beat heavy' acid jazz at chilled cafe appointments under the alias of the Barry Englefield Project. And then there has been the 'startling' response of certain disgruntled flatmates that these 'sonic alchemists' have endured, following on from hour upon hour of toiling in their 'breakbeat' laboratory; - but they press on into the future, and the unknown......
The eclectic nature of the material on their debut album is no gimmick, but a reflection of their diverse musical palate. Elusive Tones of Wonder perfomed at Parachute 2000.
